The Clean Label Project (CLP) performed a comprehensive analysis of the Snack & Nutrition Bar category that included the following 165 products.

CLP’s Clean Sixteen highlights the 16 products with the lowest levels of contaminants.

Please note that the absence of a product from the Clean 16 is not necessarily an indicator that its contaminant levels exceed federal or state regulations, or that it would not qualify for CLP certification, only that it did not rank in the top 16.

Our study found varying levels of contaminants in products throughout this category such as 37%, or 19 of 51, Organic Bars tested were over Prop 65 Limits for Lead.
